The Carol Rose Coastal Collection
This special collection of outdoor products are named for customer service manager Carol Rose Burtz, who has been with Empire for more than 60 years. As the first time we have named a product for an employee, this represents an appropriate honor recognizing Carol’s exceptional history with the company.
Our Carol Rose Coastal Collection includes outdoor fireplaces, fireboxes that let you create your own system with a traditional log set and burner or a contemporary burner, and fire pits with optional multi-color LED lighting in two sizes. With so many choices you are sure to find a fireplace that adds a perfect glow to your outdoor lifestyle!
Outdoor Linear Fireplace
Stainless steel construction, an integrated LED lighting system, and a 55,000 Btu burner ensure that Empire’s 48-inch Outdoor Linear Fireplace will light up your patio party for any occasion. Or choose the 60-inch model with 65,000 Btu burner.
These see through models conceal a gas burner beneath a large bed of clear-frost crushed glass. While the flames dance atop the bed of glass, the lighting system illuminates the glass from beneath. A glass deflector shield helps protect the flame from wind. (Optional taller deflectors are available for fireplaces installed in windier locations.)
A tilt-up cover conceals all controls – including pushbutton ignition and flame control knob with Hi, Medium and Low – plus intuitive buttons to control the changing pattern and color of the LED lighting. The buttons let you select from seven LED colors – Deep Blue, Royal Violet, Cardinal Red, Sea Green, Forest Green, Tranquil Blue, and White – and vary the intensity. Two “program” settings cycle through the colors automatically – either quickly or gradually.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy a fireplace online and install it myself?
We highly recommend a certified professional install all of our units. Any issues that arise from improper installation will not be covered under warranty. |
Does our product work during a power outage?
Yes, most of our appliances have the ability to be used in a power outage situation please see a local dealer for more information. |
What is the difference between Millivolt and electronic ignition fireplaces?
Millivolt fireplaces use the electricity produced by a standing pilot to operate the fireplace. Electronic ignition fireplaces rely on a power source to power the fireplace, this can be house voltage as well as battery voltage. |
Can I use a Wi-Fi Thermostat with my unit?
Our units are designed to be operated by millivolts or low voltage, most Wi-Fi thermostats use 24volts and are not compatible. |
Where can I find my model and serial number?
There is a rating plate attached to the valve of your appliance that will have the model and serial number information. |
Can you tell me how old my unit is?
Once you locate your rating plate the serial number will help identify the age, the first two digits of the serial number denote the year of manufacture (21, 20, 19...) the next two digits identify the week of that year that the unit was built. |
What is the difference between a fireplace, a firebox, and an insert?
Fireplaces are designed to be installed into a framed opening with specific clearances to combustibles. Fireboxes are just like Fireplaces in terms of where they can be installed but in addition a burner and a set of logs is required to finish off the unit. Inserts are designed to be installed directly into an existing wood burning fireplace that meets all standards of construction. |
